Contractors are building a sravel or rock road .'rum French Lick to the Dubois ('. line near Hiilham. After it id completed Columbia tj should extend it to the Harbison township line, and the other townships across theii limits to Jasper. It would prove a paying investment lor the farmers in each township. .Now is the time to tile mortgage exemption affidavits. In order to have them credited on your asaeasment for taxes they must be filed before May 1. Make your affidavits before the auditor at once, if you want exemption. Kemembei that mortgage exemptions must be tiled sich year. Nkw Chi'kch Dubois is getting to be a church town rapidly. But a few years ago the religious people were generally using the adjacent school houses for services. Then the Methodists built a church house in the town Last year the Catholics built one. Now the Evangelical Lutherans have formed a congregation, calling it "St. Peter's Congregation,"' and have bought 5.1 acres of ground for 1,"7", and will build St. Peter a church house.
