IKId.ANÜ INKLINGS. Mu. Kmtok : Betsy, my own dear Betsy, se. she never wrote then thar wntin's in iaat Veak'l CoUBIBB entitled "Betsy Has dei Bay." That thar would'be Betsy is an itnpositor, forger an I actually believe is a rani's skin inllated with wind an' a very foul kind OV atmosphere at that. A teller told my Betsy totber day that that Betay couldn't cut the jimaon with I'ncle Sampson, if she wuz a school teacher. She said that Sampson didn't understand the speaker over at the (I. A. K's. big meetin' when he spoke ov the boys in blue bavin' to give up their artillery an' bavin' to take atnusket. iiiiger bicad an' goose berries ! -ich ignorance as she doeaput up. What does she kttOW 'bout war? She never cocked a cannon iu her life. 8hfl may be a good whistler, fur her lips set sorty puckeryned, but the gals say she can't carry a tune. Not even on boss back. When she sings in the quire she chaws her notes up 10 bad that the tune can't L'et out. The long an' short of it is, i'ncle Sampson bei forgot more than that thar Betsy ever 'nowed. Ha' nal bei Now, Mr. Editor, you km give a lull side ov the paper to that would-be Uetsy if you think she kin entertain the people better than me. It hez always been customary fur a speaker to hold the floor until he has -aid his -ay. We hadn't said ennything in last week's

wiitin's but what we could back

with plenty of evidence. Everything that wuz stated eus an actual bappenin' or savin', fur I wuz there an' seed an' beard a lot of it myself. Now if that thar Betay is sich n apt scholar an' her intellect in a bu-tin' the skin, jiat let her burn the wind with her eloquence and toat the nuse to Jasper, ia the wish of I'.v I K SaMI'sOX.
