Hope's lot on 'lay etnet. Charley Moenkhaus was in Ja per Saturday from an electioneering tour in the Northern part of ihe county. He was on his way home to vote at the Huntingburg city primary of Democrats. Mr. Henry Bohnert, city marshal of Washington, returned to his home Tuesday, after a pleasant visit with his brothers in Jasper. The p -ople over there seem to know a good thing when they see it, as the Democrats re-nominated him for marshal. Mr. Gus. Rosenberger, a successful business man of Evansville, visited H. L. Moutoux in Jasper Saturday and Sunday. Henry used to work for him, as did also John Friedman, and others of Jasper citizens.
Boone Beauties. Hoadl are in good condition and - one farmers are sowing clover seed. The Saints are holding a meeting at Otwell, and many persons are attending. Mr. J. C. Kirkland has been at Chrisney the past m II ; we are informed that he has a sweet-heart there. Two of our beet friends, or as Geitrude cabs them, lovers, say they wish school would close. Can anyone guess why? T. L. Hargrave and I. C. Lemnion say the like to fox hunt near Portersville of course but we think there is something besides foxes attracting their attention. K Stoy's Sons, New Albany, was instantly killed at Bird--eye, Tuesday afternoon, by being run over by a freight train on the B. B. He had started to get on the I'.i-senger train going ho . e, and stepped across the siding to reach it, and was struck by a freight train backing on the siding, and fearfully mangled. Coroner P. A tiuckes went up that night and held an inquest. He was about 89 years old and unmarried, but leaves a mother and two brothers and three si.-t'-rs. His remains were taken to New Albany Wednesday.
