Reunion of the Yates Fsmily. A family picnic and reunion of the family and descendants of Mrs. S. Hefreshments were plentiful ami well enjoyed. One young man from New Albany said he didn't like butter milk, but it is known he got away with five quarts, and broke the jar trying to squeeze out more, but he did say he liked ice cream and we ladieve it He and Mrs. Thomas, of Kvansville, both very small in weight, had so increased in weight during the day it was found necessary to leave them in the country for fear of a break down on the mad. It was a happy day and will long lie remembered by all present, and it is intended to have another reunion next year. 0. T.

Total I122.VOL Arn. H. Kokner, Auditor Dubois Co. The new law requires a tax levy in each township to re in. burse the county treasury fjr sums drawn therefrom for paupers in the respective townships. There is evidently a gross defect in the law, a it compells townships to pay taxe for the supjsjrt of paupers in tho towns and cities. It is one of tho freaks of the late Republican legislature, and will probably lie remedied when the next Democratic legislature is ejected. It shows, however, another way in which the Republican laisses discriminate against the farming interest. There was a jx-tition with MU signers, presented to the Hoard for a bridge over Patoka river at tincrossing ot the new Jasper ami. Huntingburg road. Tuesday the Board spent in auditing the monthly expenses of the

various townships, a made bligatiry by another act of the last legislature. Wednesday and Thursday roal petitions were examined. The only pim e to get bargains hi at the store th.t sdvertises lor you; trade.
