Another R. R. Project.

Mr. Albert K. Boone, of Zanes-

ville, Ohio, the promoter of a large proposed system of railroads from the Ohio river to Charleston, S. C, is engaged in working up various links in his proposed system of railroads, f.om Ripley, Ohio, south, and from Springfield, Ohio, south and west, via New Albany, French Lick, Jasper, Petersburg and Ymeennes. The newspapers at M iysville, Ky., and Chattanooga, Tenn.. seak of him as a very eloquent and convincing orator, to whom it is a pleasure to listen, when he talks on any subject. The C )C'kik i ' no' sufficiently informed as to Mr. Boone's proposals to speak advisedly in regard to it, but he will find our eople in la vor of anv railroad enterprise

which will give us another railroad, indejM'ndent of the Air Line, and in such a shape as not to be likely to be absorbed by it, nor to be used imply as a project to extort money from the present owners of the Air Line, without securing the building of any road. Any road, to be of advantage to this locality, must have a western or southern connection, indeendent of our present one, or it will be absorbed by the latter, and h-ave M in a worse condition than - A I

It thus secures their friendship, and their silence when any other project is prop seil which would compete with the Air Line for business. Mr. Boone's svstem of pro nosed

roads is called the "Black Diamond! R. R." Its headquarters and gen-l

eral offices are at Knoxville, Tenn. His proposed main line was first pointed out as a profitable road by Senator Calhoun, of S.C., fifty years ago, and had the great Senator lived
