On account of the danger occur

If the walls had broken, as a little longer pump ing would have brought alut. both Mr. Fink's and Mr. Hopf s houan would likely have been washed from their foundations, and probably some one drowned. The trustees ordered that .Mr. Fink he seen and rind out what he would chaw the town for siienntendance. AMr. Fink had threatened to bring Buit against the town for damages, it wa. surmised that this was an
effort to make him feel safe here after, and buy him off from suing the town. Trustee Alois Spiauer handed in his resignation as Trustee of the lid ward, but the Board refused to receive it, telling him he had helped to get the town in its present bad shape, and he mut help get it out. After discussion he withdrew his resignation. The town treasurer was ordered to make a tender of the money awarded as damages exceeding benefits on the proposed extension oJ oth street, $206, but as there wanot that much money in the treasury pubjeet to draft, he wants to know where it is to come from. None of the proceedings were in the town record on Thursday morning when the Cockikk representative called to examine it, but it was learned from outsiders who were present what had on urred. and it is supposed the record may lie made up in some future year, when the town attorney garta the entries ready to copy.
