'Democrats generally should
remember the big meeting at Birdseye, to-morrow, and by their presence give Judge Zenor a cordial welcome. ffiSHon. W. A. Then was also a number of carriage-, an I the next Qovernor of Indiana was soon seated in a carriage, and conveyed by the procession to
the Phenix hotel. In the afternoon the court room was crowded with people. The .-tar Band, the Silver Glee Club, and the quartette rendered some splendid music, after which Chairman A. H. Koemer introduced tinspeaker, who held his audience closely for two hour. The meeting at Huntingburg was an impromptu affair, and reflects great credit by its success on the managers there. About 75 went from Jasptf on a special train, with Capt. Shively, the Band, the glee club and the quartette. They were BWt at the train by a torch light proocnion, with 16 horsemen on white hor-es and one i n a yellow one; the Huntingburg drum corps, and a brass band. nsTPerrv McCart Esq., Demo
cratic candidate for Representative for Lawrence, Orange and Dubois counties, addressed the Jasper Bimetallic League at the Bonn house on Saturday night in a logical and forceful argument for the honest money of our forefathers. His speech was well received, and shows that he is capable of making a good
Representative in the Legislature for this district, and should receive the hearty supjKjrt of all who believe in honest money for the people. He spent a week in this county and made many friends who will work for his success in Nov. After Mr. McCart had concluded Chairman Milburn made a few remarks, and then the audience called Hon. Mike Sweeney, J. L. Bret,
C. Doane and Frank Fink, Esq., who each spoke for a short time, making a sort of Democratic lovefeast of the meeting. Mr. Fink told of being in Birdseye at the time a local gold advocate bad an appointment for a meeting there, and that
no one appeared at the meeting consequently the gold failed to jingle in a speech, as it has failed for months to jingle in the people's

IRELAND. According to previous announcement the McKinley Club at thiplaee was treated Wednesday night to a BDeech from Dr. M Mahan, of
Huntingburg. The Dr. is a gentleman and a very good speaker In fact he delivered the best "Cold Bug" speech that we have yet
heard. Of course he produced no newargument, the stock of argument on the side of gold has long since been exhausted, but he reasoned bis side of the question in good shape without abuse to any one ortoany party. The fact of the matter is that the Doctor fully believes what he preaches. He is entirely convinced that what be wants in money is quality instead of quantity, and that the best thing to do is to have
gold only as a primary money, but what farmer, or what laborer would not be of the same opinion with the doctor if he possessed as much of this world's goods as the doc .or doeof What sane man would not be in favor of increasing the oualitv or
value when be has already accumulated the quantity 1 Every body took the speech as a matter of course; People know thai when a p net dent of a bank, and a man who, as Blaine said, gets his income in money, goes out speech
making, that he will not he in favor of easy money. It would be philanthropy n wed for a nan to go out and say to the farmers and laborer, Now I have the money and I am in favor of raising the price of products, and of labor in ordert .make
it easy tor ail the common people to get some of it. " Those who indulged their fancy with such pleasing notions, may now be convinced that they were in error. To expect so much Would be contrary to human nature, and one thing is certain, men may be ever so false to all else tln-y will yet be tme to human nature and to their own in-
reputation as an nonest man, lawyer and official at -take, and in addition to his own great legal ability, he has already the pi offered service s of twenty-two of the brightest and best lawyers in the tier of counties comprising the Fir.-t end Second
congressional districts. ' '
