Residents from Tippecanoe coun

v have lately been aDDiauainc

their representatives in the general assembly on account of their having, as the Lafayette papers say, taken no part in the riot that so dis

gracefully closed tne seseion. ine matter was being discussed around the state house, and the plaudits of the Tippecanoe papers created con

siderable amusement in view of the

act that a senator from Tippecanoe m . .

was one oi the most promiscuous participants in the riot, and was so

bitterly radical that he drew down upon him the censure of his own

party mends in consequence. It was related bv several prom- .

inent gentlemen that early in the

ball tight the senator was tearing up . and down the corridors shouting at ,

the top of hu voice, ana was sum- , ing at every person within reach of him. Senator Sweenev happened

by, and seeing the condition of af

fairs, promptly grabbed tne senator from Tippecanoe by the back of the

neck and threw him fifteen feet.

From that moment the Tippecanoe

gentleman contented himself with

hanging on the outskirts ox we

crowd.

He was in such a violent state of

mind that members of his own party called him to one side and reImonstrated with him, telling him

his conduct was outrageous anu a disgrace. Tippecanoe was certainly in the riot.
