John Gkamelspachkk, Co. Chairman. Attest. Ueo. It. Wilson, fcec'y. Aug. 24,-2t. The Peoples' Party Ticket. The Populist county convention at Jasner last Saturday was not a ' 'bowline success" as far as num bers were concerned forty people, and about half of those Democrats, beinir all. bv count, in the court room at one time. However, they made up in earnestness whatwas lack ed in numbers, and as there was no contests for nominations, as there was no chance for nominees bem elected in Nov., the business of the convention was soon concluded by the selection of the followin-' ticket For Auditor A. J. Collins, Col umbia Tp. Clerk Roerick Dhu Dillon, Mad ison. Treasurer Isaac Cato. Patoka. Recorder Win. Buford, Tenn. Survevor Geo. Utz. Patoka. Sheriff James Burlingaine, Mad ison. Coroner David Cooper, Cass. Com'r 1st Dist. Geo. Harris Boone. Com'r 2d Dist. Geo. Kellams Personally, the ticket is said to be composed of creditable, and good men. though it is wonuereU why thev went out of the State for a can didate for Recorder. After the nominations the con vention listened to speeches bv Mr Kiggins, their candidate for Con Kress, and Prof. X. II. Motsinger the banker, ot Shoals, in which both siMjakers urged that the peopl were generally ignorant of what was hurting them, and that the speakers were specially the ones to enlighten them. Mr. lüggins also remarkcM that he had challenged John L Bretz to a joint debate. No doubt he wanted Mr. Bretz to draw a big ger crowd for him. But as Mr, iliumns thinks he is running on a platform which declares "the para mount issue in this campaign is the money question," and that it is "positively in favor of the full and free coinage of gold and silver at the present ratio of 1G to 1," and as Congressman Bretz voted every time for that very thing, and is pledged to vote for it again, at every opportunity, it would seem, if the populists are in caniest in their declarations, they had better vote for Bretz, who has been tried and proven true, instead of a new man, who is untried. Swell Bretz, majority big, and let him know his votes for silver is the reason, and it will prove much more effective than throwing away your votes on Riggins.
