William Cox, a farmer's wife living in the northern part of Shelby county, committed suicide by cutting tho nrtories at tho wrist with her husband's razor. She was unconscious when found in an outhouse, but lived two hours. Despondency and poor health is the supposed cause. Mrs. Cox was 00 years of ago. Hauk was convicted on the testimony of his son, Frank Hauk. The elder Hank was arrested, witli six of his neighbors, for burglarizing Michigan Central freight cars of valuable merchandise. It is estimated that $2,000 was secured in plunder. Young Hauk turned state's evidence. W.M. Hyatt and Win Woods were arrested at Madison for passing one-dollar counterfeit bills. Tin: remains of an infant child that had doubtless been murdered, were found in a market-basket in the alley back of 04 West Fifth street, Indianapolis. The grand jury of Whitley county has returned twenty indictments against .lames and Thompson Arnold, of South Whitely, and Jessie Arnold, of North Manchester, for alleged bank wrecking. Adam Dombi:, a farmer living five miles southwest of Goshen, is the possessor of a newly-born monstrosity in the shape of a pig, or 'rather, threo pigs, consisting of one head, four ears anil twelve legs. Thk Hammond city council passed an ordinance the other night granting a live-year franchise to the Roby Racing association to operate a race course at Roby, which is now in the Hammond city limits. The nssociatlon is to pay $75 a month for the privilege. An Indiana athlete who was supposed to bo dying of dyspepsia two years ago has lived since that time on ice cream. NouTHKitN Indiana was recently visited by the most terrific snow storm in its history. About 5 o'clock in the morning the Hakes began to fall. A heavy wind blew all day, and big drifts of snow from three to six feet deep were visible in all portions of Ft Wayne and county. Miss Anna Collins was arraigned at Lafayette the other day to answer the charge of forgery. She disposed of a $000 note signed by Kdward S. Dill and Calvin Dill, and attempted toscll a $500 note signed by the same persons. Doth signatures are pronounced forgeries by tho Dills. Miss Collins claims Kdward Dill gave her the last named note to restrain her from suing him for libel. Miss Collins gave $l,OU0 bail, and was released.
