STORING CLOVER HAY. Tho CkMpeet Winter Pood far All Kinds af farm Steele Clover hay should never be scattered utof the swath, beoHuse in addition to the labor in scattering and again raking up, tho hay is thereby greatly injured. If tho weather be favorable for curing, neither timothy nor any other kind of hay should be scattered, because the less any grass is exposed to the sun in the process of ouring the greater will be the value of the hay and the less labor required. Let the clover lie in the swath untouched until about two-thirds of the upper pa rt is su ffioien tly cured, then turn the swath bottom upward with a fork, and let it then lie exposed to the sun until this side ie cured. Clover hay will keep with less drying then almost any other grass. A common test is to take up a bunch of hay and twist it; If no juice exudes the hay may be hauled in with safety. We hare often hauled in clover out in the morning, in the even lng, and always tho next day, unloee prevented by bad weather. Sprinkling

SIX to Olglll llKJiioe wnim, ucvnerjii oimj two layers of clover of the same thickness, will he found a great preservative; it will enable the farmer to put up hay in a far greener state titan could be otherwise done with safety. Besides this advantage, the straw interposed between tho layers of hay, by absorbing its julees, will be rendered much more valuable no provender, and If salt be sprinkled on the hay, tho straw, absorbing tho juices of the hay and salt, will be greedily consumed both by cattle and horses. The farmer mutt ho blind to his own interest who does not take care to provide himself wfth nt least as much elever ae will furnish an abundant supply of feed fer kin stock. Clover should be cut for hay when about onehalf the heads have become of a brown color; if out earlier, it is believed the hny will not be so nutritious; if later, the steams will have boeonte harder aad tho grass be on the decline. For hogs, however, and young stock, it will bo advisable to out sonte no soon as ft ie In full bloom; when cut in this state ami salted, hogs re very fond of It, aad it is believed might be chiefly wintered on it, if otherwise carefully protected from lnrdontent weather.
