A straageaml singular sad death or' stirred in tbe family of Wm. H. Sulli van, a carpenter, living on Wright street. A few days ago a child of four years itt the family, beeame ill with scarlatina aad was in a fair way to , recover when it was taken with a relapse. Yesterday its condition grew hopeless, end while the family were gathered about the bedside of the little sufferer, during tbe .afternoon, it said to its mother, "Mamma, 1 know that I am dying and I want to hear the birds ping." The cage containing two of the family's net canary birds wa brought to the bedside of the child.
