Appointments tm Ollee Will b Ma4e Slowly amI to Mil VaoaacieOuly. 'It is beginning to dawn upon thbee here that the o flees are to be given out with a sparing band. The president is inolined to make haste slowly, aud the members of the cabinet have caught the inspiration. The corriders of all the departments are crowded during the day, and at night the hotels are packed with crowds'who are beginning to show evidence of despondency. It can almost be set down as a fixed fact that there will be no immediate changes in the offices except to fill vacancias. The presentation of one's claims for mere partisan services does not weigh a feather. When vacaucies'occur, the president will fill them with Democrats, but until then his policy will be to let the incumbents now in hang on unless there are other than partisan charges brought against them. This policy will bring a wail throughout the land, and the president will, no doubt, be subjected to criticism. This He expects, aud he thinks that in the end lie will be sustained.

Nearly all expect to purchase govern

a quarter section of land. Some go to purchase larger bodies of laud than a,

It is certain, however, that not one of the

can be found in Harrison county. None ot them will find so charming a climate and so healthy a locality as they bare
