I lmv loiif? since learned that gome enmity, seems to exist in political and eouimcrcil circles, between the towns of Huntingbnrtf and Jasper; this is quite natural, timl is usually the result, wIh'ii mo little towns in the saints county, are o neur the same size, as tlio villus ju!t mentioned ; and, I have frequently noticed that it U generally better, in the end, for both places; for as the two sections aspire to excel they expti.o their lines, inorwse their buim induct

several, upon his arrival at Jasper, on
Saturday last, that the Huntiiigbursr delegation came oil the train and up

under tin) burn and bustle, incident to
such occasions was, most likely, not
noticed, but after the Convention con

Chairman, who, on motion, appointed a
part of the nccessarv committees am
delegates, then business (after dinner) began in earnest, when it at once became
apparent that some body was scared; the

there are others more iiniuetlinto which

consequences of which wo have neither
the time nor space to notice. It isoucot
the most serious obstacles in the way of
our success in the countrv. It is the
cause of a large portion of the disadvan

effects are severely felt iu a majority of
country schools. It is impossible to
grade or classify a school properly where
it exists. It imposes upon the teacher
much extra labor to interest the irregular
