day before hist Mr. Valentino Hitter, of Otwell, and Miss E. Hiiicclman. of
Marion township, Pike county, were
married, and enjoyed with friends one
niirht of we hied blia: but their honey
moon was rudely broken on Monday
morning by a stern officer of the law
arresting the gay Vitlentiue. on u charge
made before a justice of Otwell, by n
young and handsome daughter of Dr.
Taylor, that suid Valentine had courted
her for manv weeks and in the eonl -
deuce of her young heart, she had loved!
aim "not wisely, but too well," and that
lint was the father of her prospective
child. Thus were happiness and misery
blended in three hearts in u short time.
Upon the cause being called for trial
xucccsbivo changes of venue were granted by the justices, and it is Jo come up to-day before one of the chief justices ot that locality. In the meantime the young bride is exultant, but nevertheless anxious.
03 Mr. Murray, was in Jasper this
week soliciting orders for gentlemen'
clothing, for the merchant tailoring in-
tublishment ot Lcmmon, in Itockport.
Advertise your business, gentlemen, in
the countv papers, and your travelers
will not have to spend so much time to
introduce their houses when they come
around. Itockport has, no doubt, some good business firms, but our poople do
not know their mimes, and as we are -hortly to he neighbors, within an hour's ride on the railroad, it might pay them to introduce themselves through our
various papers.
