iMad mc of these 33 ministers who

outraged had his 05 associates voted to

rather think: he would have been grate

gidered himself a much abused man had
hfs 36 brother ministers acted toward him as they did toward Mr. , De- La Matyr. When ministers ol the gospel attempt to control the political opinions of their associates in the talHistry or the laymen of their churches, public scat i men t will condemn their action, and their influence will be lost to'tke cause of religion. Condensation is sure te follow such fanaticism, as surely in the ehurch as out ef it. The fact that the condemnation ef the 36 was manifest in the conference, is preof that liberal sentiment
prevails; and if the 34 voted against
locating Rev. D La Matyr or the
ground ef his political sentiments, they
should he left wiikeut a " location " themselves, tad forced to ''root bog or die" in some occupation where their narrow and contracted views will he
lees likely to com before the public than
in a deliberative body of a greet ehurch.

County Commissioner. A a voter ami
tax-payer, I leal in duty bound to my
follow-citizcna to express to them a few
reasons why thev should not vote for
the present incumbent.
1st. In regard to (tin bridge across
Paloka nt Kelso's mill, I happened to be present in the Court-hoHe at the time lames G. Stewart, Sr., proposed to the Hon. Hoard of County Commissioners to repair the old bridge for $75, and keep in repair for live years; he also stated that lie would go into a bond for any amount to make his word good;
there was also present, to the best oi niv knowledge at the time, Messrs
Thos. Diileii, J. P. Norman and several
others, as responsible men as we have In the county, all of which I have the honor to refer the voters of the. county to, for the correctness of my statement. This same bridge was let out, and now costs the county about $7,000. Is that economy? So much for John 11. Gob-
man.

for J. is uoiiman.
