.1 a n r i k The Frntid Conaummntfid. On lst Monday, hl Frtndnnev. R ll ivr. wa sworn in as President of tlit Fulled Jjtaies, to the eternal di "rice of tht hitherto fair-fame of tin Supreme OoWtJuibres, and of thw good name of the' Amwiean people for fair dealing in. seeing that the majority flmuld rule. The official vote show '264.843 maiaritv f the tMmiilar vote tlu'HUiKt liiui, ami more than a million majority of the whit voters, while all lair iuvestfxat'on show thatTilden had honestly 196 Electoral votes and Haves hut 173, hut by the rulings of 8 to 7 in a Commission which perjured themselves by refusing, to investigate after having been swornto do so, the will of the majoritv U temporarily reversed, and the fraud is rendered possible. The nr calitiea of the Republican omcc-bepfers are so great, in fket beyond any comprehension, that they could not afl'ord to let them be investigated fully, and would rather strangle liberty, and destroy the Kepublic, than to have their sins exposed. But we much mistake the temper of the American people, if another election is permitted to take place and the returns be manipulated by the scoundrels of the Louisiana Eeturninir Hoard. If they are in existence Ikjfore the next election, their worthless bodies should be dangling from rope tnids, for when ever the members of the court of last resort decide there is no May to go , behind the acts of these scoundrels, then liberty demands they should no longer have an opportunity to act. And we further mistake the in nate love of lair dealing in the Amen can people, if the election of 18S0 does
not show such a large majority against novel managemen twill be watched the uartv of fraud as will 'leave no!wi.lh ,"lK'1' ite-est t) 'student, of prison

Some very vicios legislation we apprehend, will be ftwad to have Leen euactcd, while unquestionably some acts failed which should have passed. Among other things imposed unjustly upon this county by the influence of Gibson county, Riid which our people should
remember in the future, is the foolish Thq Htemiuii.g room is under the superehanging of th time of holdiug courtsjiutendeiee of Mr. dohn Helm, and there
in this county. Our people in DwboJ have suffered by th whims and caprices of other counties long enough, and in the future it will be well for ur delegates to conventions, to choose public servants to look to the interests of home. The present arraugement f courts could not have been bettered, so far as this county was concerned, and we wonder that our Senator and Repre sentative, who were both cognizant of the wishes of the people, would consent to a change to accommodate othors, when ti good can reslt. There were 982 bills introduced In both branches, and 52 Senate bills, and 47 House bills passed both branches and become laws, many of these being rushed through In the last few hours The General Appropriation bill failed on Monday, Imcaum of captions opposition of IUpubliwuis in the House, thus lenylHg'the officsra of State without means to carry on the Government, and necesitaling the expanse of an extra kcssion. It was agreed by a committee to pass it on Manday, and it went through the Senate, but failed in the House, th Republicans voting against it, as some of them wanted to put a little more of the people's money in their pnfwa, a ad make It appear "that Gov. Williams' administration' was expensive. The people understand the trick, and jvIicn they pay increased taxes will lay the Wunder on the Radical party. The Governor called an extra session te begin March 8thr and the Democrats hope to get through this week ; bat it is not likely the Radical iiouse will permit -hh adjourum'ciit U" Hmit of 40 daya has expired.
