ifroai Nm New Yerk HmUl. Jackson, Mich., Feb. 12. The Mary Kaox ease baa been discussed by the JTsrsW ana otlier journals as on of the -aot curious case on record, ul yet tke dust-ciovered. legal record of Michigan ohh tell of a ease still more fciHgular. Miss Knox whs engaged to a youas; mau named Merritt, the day was set for the nuptials, they drove away together aud were married, and now Merritt tows he was not the bride groom. She vows that fie was, 'but oaa aot prove it, and both made out a pretty good case. One may well argue that he ought to know whether he ever warned a certain voting lady or not, aad the said young lady may well argue that she ought to Know the young man who rode to tke clergyman's with her, stood up betide her, made his responses La due form and drove her back home. These arguments are what mystify the Kb ox case. Now for one still more singular: A CUKIOUS will. Aboat 90 years ago there lived ia Central Michigan a curious old Benedick named Dodsworth. At the age of 60 he married a girl of 20, and when the burden of CO .years bore him down his wife was only h'tlf hie age. Dodsworth was soted for his. peculiarities, but the climax oame when he found himself on hie dying bed. He was worth about f0,0OO, and he hadn't a blood relative living, so far as lie knew. He wanted to leave hie property to his wife, as the pair had lived very happily, but yet be could not leave it without displaying some of his peculiarities in the provisions of the will. Some old men display a mean spirit when making thoir wills and draft ia a provision cutting the wife off with a shilling if she mar riee again. This old man wasn't of that stamp. His young wife was good looking, vivacious, fond of society, and itwas lolly to suppose she would mourn for her "late departed" any great length of time. Therefore Mr. Dodsworth tarned heel on the usual custom and said ia his will: "in case my wife Celiadoee not take unto herself another husband within thirteen months from date of my burial all bequests otherwise made in this will are to revert to the State of Michigan, to be used for building and furnishing a home for old women." Whether Celia was pleased or dis pleased at this provision deponent saith not, but the old man had not been tin der the sod more than she months when the widow was said to be looking out for another man. If it was singular for the dying Dodsworth to urge his wife to marry again, it was still more singular that he should desire the ceremony to be performed under the following circumstances, viz. : "And it is made incumbent on said Celia Dodsworth that in taking a new husband the marriage ceremony shall be performed in the big barn oa my farm, oa the H-- Road. It shall take place at 10 o'clock in the evening, on the main floor, without lights of any description, with all doors shut, and a free invitation, be extended to all. The clergyman shall stand in the stables and the brkle and groom on the main loor, and the principal parties to th oeremony shall be dreeeud in black throughout." A WILLING WIDOW. The widow announced her intention to faithfully obey in spirit and in letter. The will was probated, and the twelfth month had scarcely passed before she issued an invitation for the public to attend a wedding at the big barn. Just who the groom was to be no one could positively assert, as the widow had been keeping company with a widower, a bachelor and two young men, and, as far as any outsider could judge, she loved one as well as the other. Being good looking and talented, and having a fortune behind her, it was not strange

that she should have a number of suitors. She seemed to enter into the spirit

of the atl air with great zest, as also did 'the minister; and, to further mystify

tke people in attendance, toe bride en

And the Pink Parrot would wait, and while he waked the Gray Bey made faces. Indeed, the Pink Parrot was never certain of his breakfast. Tea to one, when a luscious grape was all bat in his bill, the Gray Boy would go out of the room carrying the grape with him. He would say, mil you have it now, or wait until you can get to?" Maybe he would come back, and maybe he

But the Pink Parrot's day came at
