Hear-Admiral John Do Camp, on the retired lit, die 1 at P.urlington, N. J., on the 24th. ΒΆ James Gordon and Louis Wagner were hanged at Thomaston, Me., on the 25th. The crime of the former a the triple murder of his brother, Almond M. Gordon, together with his (Almond's) wife and child, at Belfast, in June, 1873. On the morning of the day fixed for his execution, Gordon attempted to commit suicide by stabbing himself with a shoe-knife. He fainted from loss of blood, and was scarcely conscious when he was swung off. Wagner's crime was a double murder, committed at the Isle of Shoals, in March, 1873, his victims being Anethe and Maren Christensen. These were simple Norwegian people, and the crime was such a particularly cold-blooded one that it filled the papers at the time of its occurrence. A third murderer also expiated his crime on the gallows, on the same day, at Dedham, Mass. This was James Henri Costley, who in the fail of 1873 murdered his paramour, a woman named Mrs. Hawkes.
