Her father, mother and husband were all present when the explosion occurred, and were all badly burnol in trying to extinguish the flame. In JefferonviIle, Ind., on the fith, John McIermott, a saloon-keeper, shot hi wife and little chilI, eight month old. killing the child instantly, and fatally wounding hi w ife, and then blew hi own brain out. McDermott was diipate,l and abusive. Hi wife had applied for a divorce, and failing to persuade her to abandon the suit, the man became desjerate. A terrible tornado awept through the village of Tampico, Whiteside county. 111., on the night of the 6th. Twenty-one dwelling were totally destroyed and every house in the town more or lew Injured. Strange to tell, no live were lost, though a numlsfr of the people were quite seriously injured. They evince a determination to move against Fort Sill Reservation and Agency, and after committing depredation they are to move forward on a raid into Texas. The Farmer' Reform Convention assembled at Indianapolis, Ind., on the 10th. About five hundred delegate were present. Dr. A. C. Stevenson, of Putnam county, was choen President of the convention, w ith one Vice-President from each county.
