C Kellama, a school teacher in Hall, Tp., is now confined in our county jail on a charge of having feloniously taken some school maps, charts, etc., belonging to Lis Bcbool. We understand that he was employed hy the township trustee to teach school, in Ihe township; the V ... Al. tf 1 irnstee sent me ariiciaa 1 oy a brother of K'u. He was arrested, examined before Squire Bhoulders. and committee1 to jail in default of $250 bail, there to await the action of the grand jury. Explosion. On the 17th ins. near Celestine, this county, the portable eaw mill belonging to Hacker & Ha gen exploded its boiler, killing John llagen, one of the owners of the mill, instantly, and seriously, but it is sup'posed not fatally, wounding another man, whose name we have nor yet been able to learn. This is the second eaw mill explosion that has taken place in this county within the last lew jaare. TjTDROFtoniA. There is considcra ble excitement in Spencer county abpnt this disease, and continues to increase. We learn that a little boy near Enterprise, in that county, was bitten by a rabid dog on last Saturday, also a large amount ot stock, and that a widow lady lost an excel horse, having been bitten by a dog. It seems that the season of the year has nothing to do with this disease. Trb Ckops. The wheat in tbis County looks well, and promises extraordinary yield. The fall was favorable, and the plants got very firmly rooted before cold weather set in. Of course the crop is not vet out of dan ger; but it is all right sc tar. Peaches are not yet hurt in this locality, and with a reasonable spring we have promise 01 good crops ot irnit gener aJly. a The Weatber.
