Ashes. No farmer can too highly

value ashes aa a manure. Not a hand

ful should be wasted. Every plant re

quires potash in its growth. If it is not found in the soil, or lias been exhausted

by croffing, it mast be supplied by an

wheat requires thirty -two pounds of

potash; barley, sixty -eight; and red

clover one hundred and forty pounds. These crops cannot come to (erfcetioa
