Gillain Township Items.
H—lth is good here. No J one has': died since they, dropped the Medaryviile doctor. The roads are very'muddy. The corn and oats are much; damaged by the h—vy rains. The most of the tame hay is spoiled, and . potato bugs are very scarce. The Southern States —n be supplied with potato— by the Medaryviile market. “Spitz,” that railroad will be completed to Rensselaer before very long. The grade is'finished to Mouticello. The bridge across the Tippecaaoe will soon be finished. The wo'k is going on between Moaticello and Rensselaer. We notice that John Querry has his barn-yard filled with nice lumber. Perhaps he is going to build a fine house ; but neither his family or any one else will knoW it until they see the carpenters at work. H. L. Brown has fenced in a- large fafnr with a board fence. He has the foundation constructed for a new house. “Spitz,” that railroad will run from Rensselaer northwest through the Slat— and Terrilori— to Alaska, then we will have plenty of good tea and warm soup from China.
