About the Size of a Suit of Clothes.
It may have been questioned by mat-ter-of-fact people whether the amusing tricks called sleight-of-hand or prestidigitation were of any practical application or use. A sharp performer in Detngt has settled the question in the affirmative. He was a sleepy-looking fellow, and he went into a clothing-store carrying a bundle about the size of a suit of clothes, wrapped neatly in brown paper. But this customer wanted to buy a new suit, and selected thirty-five dollars’ worth of store-clothes, which the dealer wrapped up in a package also about the size of a suit of clothes. The sleepy fellow suddenly discovered that he had nothing but a check to pay sot his suit, and he asked that the package might be laid aside for him until he could go around to his bank and draw the money. To this the storekeeper had no objection, and he laid the package aside. The customer departed as he came, carrying a bundle about the size of a suit of clothes. He did not return, and several days passed. At length the clothing-dealer thought it about time to open the bundle and replace the ssa-istJSass ragged, cast-off suit.
