Dracher waa thrown from a wagon into the *»n»i near Fort Wayne, toe other night, and found dead next morning with toe wagon-box upon him. C Aeburyßennefield bad a difficulty with hie mother at Logancport toe other day and kicked her in the abdomen, knocking her down and making her recovery doubtful. Delaware Cennar. A man named Hensley fell from the car* at Dalerilie, the other day, and %as cruahed to death. A few nights ago aa Axley Harrison, a farmer living in the country about six mSee from Mancie, waa sitting In hia house, some person fired through the window at him, toe ball striking hia head and. instantly killing him. Suspicion has fallen on a young man named Snell, who had been employed by Harrison, bat bad been lately discharged. Elkhart County. Miss Sauna Stiver, living near Goshen, went into toe kitchen a few nights ago to bathe ber breast and lungs with rose oil for a cold and soreness. After getting through she dropped toe cloth she had been using into toe stove, when it blazed out and spread over her hands. In toe excitement she clasped her hands upon her bare bosom, when that Also took fire, and she came very near being burned fatally before the blaze could be extinguished. • Hendrick* County. The purchase of a fire-extinguisher by the city fathers is creating considerable excitement in Danville. The citizens have become divided into two factions over the matter, which are known by toe euphonious names ts ‘‘The Squirts” and “ Anti-squirts.” Marlon Conner* Mandeville G. Lee, late editor of the Evening Journal, proposes to establish a new morning daily paper in Indianapolis. A new weekly paper, to be called the Saturday Evening Courier , is also projected by Jno. O. Hardesty, formerly editor of the Weekly Sun. Morgan County. Near Mooresville, recently, David McCary, nineteen years old, was found in the woods, with his head blown off and his gun lying by his side. He had been missed for several days, but no attention was paid to it, aa he was in the habitof going off on a hunt and being absent a week or so at a time. It is supposed his death waa accidental. Porter County. The other morning Thomas Murphy shot himself through the head at Valparaiso, tbs ball entering at the ear and causing death in about four hours. It is supposed that family trouble was the cause of the rash act. The deecased .was forty years old, a cooper by trade and served during the war in the One Hundred and Twenty-eighth Regiment. Vigo County. John Miner, of Lockport, has been arrested upon the charge of stealing MLfiOO in promissory notes from Hawthorn Brothers. An explosion of molten iron occurred at the* Vigo iron-works in Terre Haute the other day, in which several men were badly burned, and one, Timothy Shea, very severely upon his face, arms and body.
