. What difference does it make to the readers of a public journal whether the editor of said journal walks along tho street with his head and the upper part of hD body thrown back at an angle offo:ty-five degrees, and his tall hat set tfa the back part of his head ; or, if he danced, laughed or cried at a public entertainment? Would it not be all the same to the 1 readers of his journal, that is, if they were furnished with the required amount of “heavy” editorial, end their regular allowance of “local matter ?’’ In other words, do the readers of a public journal care anything about the personal affairs of its editor outside of the public part of his business ? We think not. From our own short experience in journalism, wB have formed the opinion that the less there is said of tho personal affairs of those connected with apaper, or of other individuals, the better success that paper will have in the community where published. Therefore we shall henceforth endeavor to steer clear of all such impediments to success. We drop the subject forever.

A rnnaway came off in first-class style, Monday morning. A team of greys started from Norris’ Grocery store, on Railroad street, and ran down to the Nevada House, where there seemed to be a slight difference of opinion ris to which way they should go. One horse took the east and the other the south side of the building, but the neck-yoke taking the corner checked their mad career. The only damage resulting was a broken' neck-yoke. * It is now a settled gfact that four brick bui IdiDgs are to bo built this spring on Ohio street, north of the Railroad. Melntire & Sbaw build two of them, J. O. B. McDougle one and J. H. Tribby the other.- — We saw the draft for the fronts, drawn by E. J. Righter, and like the design. They will make a handsome block of buildings, and add much to the appearance of the town. •Mr. J. H. Tribby has the contract for making and putting the brick in the walls. At a meeting of the Directors of the Remington Agricultural Association, last Saturday, the following officers were elected : President, Geo. Major; Vice Presidents, 0. B. Melntire and Cbas. G. Edwards; Secretary, B. M. Butler; Treasurer, D. H. Patton ; Superintendent, J. K.Sbaw ; Marshal, J. W. Lock. The members of the Association are composed of the “solid” men of this county, and they are putting forth an energy anL-zeal which foreshadows a successful management of the organisation. When such men put their shoulder to t.iro work, they can and do acomplish wonders. The board of officers is wadi selected, and speaks in the highest terms for the society. '' ; . . -e t«- -
