The Union propounds to Simon P.. Thompson six conundrums. We condense them and give Mr. Thompson g answers. 1 Are yon Independent, Republican, pig or pop ? Axs. Republican and a gentleman. Why did you pr cure the indictment of George Al. Johnson? A ns. I never procured an indictment. I write bills of indictment at the dictation of a Grand Jury. llow would you do ? 4. Why did you not investigate the escape of a prisoner from Carpenter township &c., &e.? Ans. Ignoramus ! If you know who the rascal is I will write your affidavit. What should be done ? B. Did you petition Gov. Hendricks, &c. Ans. Allen J. Yeoman applied for the remission. 1, G. & H., 347. Gov. Hendricks remitted one half and I paid the other half to the county Treasurer.
