Many came to eat, bid, and play at HHAI Family Day

By SHOSHANA HARPER The 22nd Annual Grandparents, Friends & Family Day at Hasten Hebrew Academy featured the creative talents of T artists, professional and novice alike, at this year's event. The program began, as it should, with delicious baked goods and cream cheese, lox and bagels, and fruit. Then everyone was invited to tour the PTA Art Show, spearheaded by Co-President Janine Fogel. Art work displayed : t ‘ featured hand-painted furnishings by fac- j ulty, parents, and 8th grade students which ■j>mi were auctioned off during a silent auction. * ''ll All grades, under the leadership of MaryEllen Fellegy, prepared amazing projects which were displayed for everyone to kvell over. The student artwork was sent home with the child artists later in the day. All funds raised support the PTA which, in

turn, supports scholarships and the school. After a welcome to guests by Academy Principal I Rabbi Nemetsky, PTA Co-President Merryl Cohen, Development Director Jeff Sondheim, and President of the Board Benton Marks, the audience was treated to a musical performance by the students beginning | with the Middle School and concluding with Early 1 Childhood. Parent Steve Frankel delivered a special little ditty of his own, to promote the upcoming concert of Uncle Moshe and the Mitzvah Men on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. in the JCC.
