Members of Israeli Knesset visit Hasten Hebrew Academy
By SHOSHANA HARPER On Thursday, Sept. 18, several new members of the Knesset had an opportunity to visit the Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis. Ehud Kassai (Shinui), Michael Ratzon (Likud), and Arieh Eldad (Ha-ichud Ha-leumi) joined with HHAI board members, staff, and students for a discussion and lunch as part of a tour to gain a better understanding of the U.S. Jewish community. The 7th grade class deserves a special mention for the fabulous job they did as the wait staff for the luncheon in honor of the visiting Knesset members. Their fine efforts were rewarded with a delicious lunch. Kudos go to Chef Paul and his staff as well as all the be-hind-the-scenes parent volunteers who worked to make the event appear effortless.

Were all products of the people who came before us, and the wisdom they pass down, lit the Shapiro family, that wisdom dealt with stuff like how to cook the best pastrami this side of the Hudson River, and what separates an authentic cheesecake from a pretender. Shapiros serves up those traditions every day, using the recipes and quality standards that have made us an Indianapolis favorite since 1905.
