A flood of shower ideas
One of the most delightful experiences for friends and family of the bride and groom is to entertain for the couple prior to the wedding. These parties can be planned anytime it is convenient for the hosts and the couple. In years gone by, teas and showers were strictly for the bride. Today, many prenuptial parties are for the bride and the groom, combining tried-and-true traditions with creative spins on ways to set the happy couple up in their new life together. It's not uncommon today for a couple, especially the bride, to be given several showers by friends and family members. Where in the past wedding showers were somewhat utilitarian, giving the new couple much-needed items for the home, because today many brides and grooms have already lived on their own or together for a number of years, it is no longer necessary to set the couple up. There are, however, some wonderful theme showers that provide the couple with much-needed items and the guests with much pleasure. Afternoon wine and cheese parties are a perennial favorite as are Hawaiian and paradise themes, especially if the couple is planning their honeymoon in such a location. These showers can be very creative, with the theme playing out from the invitation to the gifts to the table settings. For example, a bar shower invitation can be made in the shape of a martini glass, setting the stage for what's to come. Among the great gift ideas for a bar shower are wine glasses, wine openers, margarita pitchers, hors d'oeuvre plates, napkins, champagne, liquor, and
