Something for Everyone Support the Federation, celebrate the new moon, shop for Israel
By SHOSHANA HARPER Super Sunday The Jewish Federation's annual phone-a-thon is Sunday, Feb. 2. You can volunteer to join in the fun and the fundraising in the Laikin Auditorium of the JCC. The money raised is used locally, in Israel, and around the world. This is a bilingual event - English- and Russianspeaking volunteers are needed. All volunteers are eligible to win prizes throughout the day with threehour sessions at 9 a.m., noon, and 5 p.m. Call Ruthie Cannon at 726-5450, ext. 537 for details. Books & Bagels A popular BEZ Sunday morning book discussion cosponsored by the Sisterhood will feature Everything is
Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer on Feb. 2,9:30-11 a m. The book, about a young man in search of his family's homeland who goes to the Ukraine, is available in the Gallery of Judaica at BEZ. 253-3441. Rosh Chodesh The BEZ Sisterhood's Z'havah Forum will be led by Kitty Stoller (HHA1 teacher), who will guide the group "on an intimate journey of discovery." RSVPtoAmyCrell, 577-1755. You can be a part of the Rosh Chodesh (new month) evening with other Jewish women of all backgrounds for a little study, a little noshing, and a little

French with English subtitles. March 4: "Celine and Julie Go Boating" (1974), directed by Jaques Rivette. French with

Men's Club The entire family can enjoy a fun-filled movie night, Saturday, Feb. 8, 6:30 p.m., BEZ. Havdalah, spaghetti, popcorn, and soda are all part of the evening. RSVP to BEZ at 253-3441. Older adults The very active JCC Golden Age Club offers twice weekly meetings which typically include a discussion, exercise, and a kosher lunch. Meetings take place in the spacious Laikin Auditorium of the JCC. Thursday's program begins at
11 a.m. with a discussion of contemporary issues. From 11:30-12 noon enjoy an exercise class followed by lunch. The featured menu for Thursday, Jan. 23 includes turkey on rye, salad, soup, brocolli, fruit, coffee and tea. On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the group meets to exercise from 11:30 a.m - 12 noon followed by lunch where you can enjoy baked chicken, green beans, sweet potatoes, fruit, coffee, and tea.
