‘Art & Soul’ at the Artsgarden
In February the Arts Council of Indianapolis will host a month-long celebaation of Af-rican-American arts and artists in Indiana called "Art & Soul at the Artsgarden." The event captures the spirit and excitement of the many different Af-rican-American art forms - visual arts, dance and movement, literary arts and storytelling, and music - reaching back through these art forms to the spirituals and dances of slavery, then travel-
ing to the more recent genres of jazz, soul, R&B, and contemporary gospel. Also participating in "Art & Soul" in February are The Children's Museum, Clowes Memorial Hall, Conner Prairie, Eiteljorg Museum, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Indiana Historical Society, and Indiana State Museum. All events at the Artsgarden are free. For a complete schedule of events, visit www.indyarts.org.
