The Indianapolis Jewish Choral Music Festival is gearing up to be yet another fabulous 3-day cultural event. Local choirs and individuals will join together for the main event, "A Celebration of Psalms," on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. in JCC's Laikin Auditorium, featuring Simon Sargon, internationally renowned director, composer, and professor of music. Simon Sargon will give lectures at the following venues: Friday, Jan. 24, 6 p.m., IHC, "Psalms as Inspiration in the Creative Process." Free. Saturday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m., BEZ, "Cantillation." Free. Panim El Panim Would you like your teens to gain a renewed sense of Jewish identity? Would you like them to have a better understanding of our government and see the sights in Washington, D.C.? If so, they may want to participate in the Indianapolis delegation to Washington for this year's Panel Seminar in Washington, President's Day weekend, Sunday, Feb. 16 thru Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2002. The Institute for Jewish Leadership and Values offers seminars on public policy and Jewish values for 10th-12th grade students as a part of Panim el Panim: High School in Washington. The Indianapolis Community will participate for the forth year by sending a delegation of 10 teens and 1 chaperone to participate in this year's seminar. Past participants have represented every congregation and youth group in Indianapolis.

Over 6,500 students from around the world have participated in this four-day leadership program that enables young American Jews to examine the relevance of their Jewish heritage in the context of critical social and political issues facing the nation and the world. While in D.C. the teens will interact with policy makers across the political spectrum. Any Jewish teen in grades 10-12 is eligible. Space is limited to 10 teens and will be taken on a first-come, firstserve basis. Participants will stay in one of several hotels contracted by Panim in the D.C. area. The total student cost is $400.
