Washington trip The Bureau of Jewish Education is sponsoring teens in grades 10-12 in a trip to Washington, U.C., February 16-19, for Panim el Panim, Institute for Jewish Leadership and Values. Participants will have an opportunity to tour the city plus examine a variety of policy issues with other Jewish teens from across America while interacting with leaders involved in different aspects of the political process. The cost of the trip is $400, which includes roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, and program fees. Only 10 spaces are available on a firstcome, first-serve basis. IRT kicks off 2003 with steamy ‘Blues’
The Indiana Repertory Theatre is counteracting Indy's coldest month with its January offering of Pearl Cleage's sizzling "Blues For an Alabama Sky." One of the most widely heralded plays of recent memory, "Blues For An Alabama Sky" chronicles dreams and despair in a r ' astute depiction of an adrift urban family of friends. When the vibrant Harlem Renaissance came screeching to a halt at the impenetrable wall of the Great Depression, heartbreak reverberated throughout the nightclubs and saloons. In the summer of 1930,
among the faded stars of this once euphoric nightlife are Angel and Guy, a former nightclub chanteuse and her flamboyant roommate and dress designer who dreams of Paris.
