Does Judaism believe in the resurrection of the dead? An open letter to Professor David Sloan Wilson of Binghamton University By JACOB NEUSNER

Dear Professor Wilson, Regarding your statement in "The Origin of Religions from a Distinctly Darwinian View," by Natalie Angier, in The New York Times of December 24,2002: "A scholar at a religious conference told me that what little Judaism has to say about the afterlife is only there because Christians asked them." I don't want to spoil your illusion of knowledge, but someone was kidding you — making things up as he went along and calling it "Judaism," I would guess, because he is a Jew. In your interview you tossed that out without checking the facts.
