GOALS: To promote the welfare of the residents of Hooverwood. HISTORY: Founded 37 years ago as the Borinstein Home Guild, the purposes were the same as they are today. The scope of activities has grown with the growth in the size of
the home. TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: We operate a gift shop and beauty salon for the benefit of the residents in the home. We also fund and run parties, bingo games, luncheon outings and other cultural outings for the residents. Each year the Guild
has run a raffle in order to fund our activities. HOW TO JOIN: To join, contact the home or any member of the board. There is a general meeting held each December. Board meetings are held the first Monday morning of the month.

GOALS: Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, is the largest women's Zionist and largest Jewish volunteer organization in the U.S. It supports the Hadassah Medical Organization in Israel that is the largest medical and research center in the Middle East. The HMO has 600,000 patients from all over the world who are treated each year at the two hospitals, a new Center for Emergency Medicine, a community health center, and 90 outpatient clinics. Hadas-
sah is often the first to respond with aid for world crises. In Israel, Hadassah maintains a comprehensive vocational education and counseling program in four installations and participates in the rescue, care, maintenance and education of young immigrants and troubled youth through Youth Aliyah. It is the official U.S. representative and largest contributor to this program. Hadassah also has a historic partnership with the Jewish National Fund for
land reclamation, reforestation and ecological projects. In the U.S. Hadassah programs include health education, social action, advocacy to safeguard democracy and peace, Jewish education, research. Young Judaea (the largest and oldest Zionist youth movement in the U.S. for youngsters 8 years through college) and forging partnerships with Israel.
