Free art reception On Wednesday, May 29, 7 to 10 p.m., the JCC art gallery will host a free reception to launch the opening of its newest exhibit, titled "A Celebration of Color and Images in Israeli Art." The Safrai Gallery in Jerusalem Las put on tour 1,600 works of art by Israeli artists working in a wide range of media: oil paintings, watercolors, lithographs and etchings. This is currently the largest viewing of Israeli art available in the United States.
Many of our readers understand that since Israeli tourism has fallen off, Israel's economy has suffered. Buyirtg one of the pieces exhibited is one way to show support for Eretz Yisroel. The exhibit will run through Sunday, June 9, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tikkun Olam workshop On Sunday, June 2, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation's social action committee will be holding a workshop to discuss issues, talk about next year's projects and meet with community partners (Second Helpings, IHN, Crooked Creek MultiService Center, etc.).
