IHC to broadcast Holiday services
Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation will broadcast evening and morning services for the High Holy Days. Listeners should tune to WAJC-FM, 104.5, Rosh Hashanah evening at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29. For Rosh Hashanah morning services, listeners should tune to WICR-FM, 88.7, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30.
IHC will broadcast Yom Kippur evening services on station WAJC-FM, 104.5, at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8. WICR-FM, 88.7, will broadcast Yom Kippur morning services at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9. Listeners who would like to borrow a copy of Gates of Repentance may contact Barbara at 255-6647.

Birkner named Hillel director
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The B'nai BTith Hillel Foundations announced the appointment of Cheryl Birkner as director of the B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation at Purdue University. Birkner received an M.A. in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Prior to assuming the directorship at Purdue she was the director of OMETZ, The Center for Conservative Judaism on campus at the Jewish Theological Seminary.

Governor Bayh appoints Hasten
Gov. Evan Bayh has appointed Mark Hasten of Indianapolis to be chairman of the seven-member board of the Department of Financial Institutions. Hasten is president of Hasten Bancorp and is cochairman of five Indiana banks: First National Bank, Kokomo; First National Bank, Martinsville; Sulli-van-People State Bank, Sullivan; Farmers Loan and Trust Company, Tipton; and First Bank & Trust Company
of Clay County, Brazil. His term will expire July 1, 1990 and is the position designated for a banker. Each of the seven members receives a salary of $4,000 a year, plus traveling expenses. The Department of Financial Institutions regulates In-diana-chartered banks, building and loan associations, consumer finance companies, credit unions, currency exchanges and similar financial institutions.
