Jerusalem rabbi is Beth-El speaker
Rabbi Jack J. Cohen of Jerusalem will deliver a talk at Beth-El Zedeck Congregation at 9 p.m., next Wednesday, Feb. 17 on the Arab-Israeli confrontation. He is the author of a timely book entitled The Reunion of Isaac and Ishmael which Suggest that reconciliation is possible between the Israelis, descendants of Isaac, and Arabs, descendants of Ishmael. From 1961 to 1984, Dr. Cohen served as the director of the B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation at the Hebrew University irrjerusalem. In this position, he established programs which created opportunities
for Arab and Jewish students to meet with each other in an atmosphere of mutual respect and constructive confrontation. Dr. Cohen concludes his book with the central question of the Arab-Jewish dilemma: "Jews and Arabs are once again together on the common ancestral soil. can these two peoples, acknowledging and accepting their common origin, build a new life together founded on mutual respect...?" Following Dr. Cohen's lecture there will be a reception and book-signing session. The public is invited.
