Harry Nadler made Fettucine Alfredo, Bob Bader, Toni’s husband, tossed a Caesar Salad with homemade croutons. Sid Goldstein, Cassie's husband made chopped herring mold and a big dish of Pasta Primavera, and a vegetable-noodle concoction was created by Arthur Bennett, Barbara's

spouse.

*** WHEELS OF TIME: A few decades ago when the new building of Adath Israel Temple, in Lexington, KY, was finished, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stern were the first young couple to have their wedding there. Many years later, under the leadership of Mr. Stern, as president of the temple and chairman for the building committee, the beautiful temple was refurbished and renovated. The first couple to marry in the renewed building in 1984 was the Sterns’ daughter, Shirley. She married Betty and Morris Bryan’s son Jared, Indianapolis, on Nov. 26. Esther and Leo Selig, greatuncle of the groom were among the wedding guests in Lexington, as well the grand-

DEEMED DEAN: Welcome to Natalie and Sheldon Siegel and family. Dr. Siegel recently became dean of Indiana University School of Social Work at IUPUI. The family lived in Cincinnati where Mrs. Siegel was practicing social work, specializing in family and marriage counseling. They have three sons, Daniel, Eli and Matthew.

•** BACK FROM VACATION: Valerie, Steven and Eric Bursten returned from Bonita Beach, Florida. Alice and Leonard Berkowitz returned from Sarasota, FL. Simona and Hart Hasten were in Pompano Beach, FL. *•* DELICIOUS: The menu consisted of Caesar Salad, Beef Tenderloin, three-layer vegetable pate, noodle kugel, and cakes with strawberries and raspberry sauce — all made by hostess Nancy, who with husband, Dr. Jerold Goldsmith, entertained guests on New Year’s Eve. After the meal guests played “Trivial Pursuit” and engaged in good conversation. Participating in this quiet New Year’s Eve celebration were Susan and Dr. Peter Cahn, Barbara and Leonard Opperman and Fran and John Datillo.

They are the originators and owners of the new interior design firm, “Decorating Den.” Snappy vans — named Colorvans — with loads and loads of samples drive up to customers' homes, offering selections of wall coverings and floor and window-treat-ments right on the spot, where trained craftsmen will install them. Presently the Burstens have 175 franchises across the country, but soon they plan to extend those into the

thousands. *** CELEBRATION: A big bouquet of balloons awaited Joe Scillag at the Hollyhock restaurant pn Jan. 6, his 72d birthday. Together with wife Katie and friends Margarete and Abe Alex, Edith and Emery Kovac, Dana and Matt Matievic, Sarah Shaw and Sophy and Morton Rolsky, he celebrated with a cozy dinner while on Jan. 10, Joe’s grandchildren, Wendy, Robin and Ellen came to congratulate grandpa with parents, Rose and Alan Potasnik. *** QUARTER OF A CENTURY: Lovely presents and more than 100 well-wishing friends awaited Rosie and Don Siegel at the “Assembly Line” restaurant in Carmel Jan. 6.
