Milton Fettner dies; owned Bagel Fair
Milton Fettner, owner and operator of the Bagel Fair in Nora Shopping Center, died Sunday evening at his home. He was 75. A native of Austria, he lived in Indianapolis for the
last 10 years.
Fettner was a member of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, the Jewish Community Center, and the Nora Plaza Merchants’ Association. Services were Tuesday 6 at the Aaron-Ruben-Nelson
Meridian Hills Mortuary, with Rabbi Jonathan Stein officiating Burial was at the IHC Cemetery North. Surviving are his wife, Ida; two sons, three daughters, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

FLASH! Soloman Schwartz was the first to “predict” to Thomas Jefferson and Mrs. Jefferson that some day the “Jeffersons” would be on television! (don’t touch that dial)! FLASH! The popular Billy Cooler (Harry and-Dee) is engaged to a very charming gal, Pat O' Donnell! They have scheduled their marriage for May, 1986, upon Billy’s university graduation! He will then be like his swell dad, Harry Cooler, “architectural!” Congrats Billy and Pat! They make a handsome couple! FLASH! a tee hee! A Catholic boy was bragging to his Jewish friend, “My priest knows more than your rabbi!” “Of course he does,” said the Jewish boy, “You tell him ‘everything’! ” FLASH! Our own Nancy Glasser (Dick and Ann) now living in Tucson, is engaged to Dr. Rick Weiss of Tucson, they plan to tie the knot in March! Congrats Nancy and Rick! And here’s a cutie! If women take over politics, it will cut the cost of eating out! Instead of $100-a-plate dinners, they will serve “box lunches!” FLASH! Mom and dad, Muriel and Bob Romer, loved having their children and grandchildren visiting from Tucson, Sunny Oblath and husband, Rabbi Michael and offspring! It was a wonderful holiday visit for all! Jan. 16! You will see many of the fellows who came to my gym class when I was athletic director from 1938 to 1943! Many of these “great” athletes are 65 to 75 years youngs, and will play against the “Young Upstarts!” Listen to this program! Starts at 7 p.m. introduction of the “old timers,” then the basketball game at 7:30 p.m.! At 8:30 p.m. (hear this) there will be "kosher” hospitality and reception!
