Newcomers

l Dr. and Mrs. R Franklin

Dr. Ronald and Huelwen Franklin are among the few Jews in this city to spesk with English accents. In Indianapolis for three months, they came here by way of Maryland and Milwaukee. It was Ronald’s employment as a research pharmacologist at Eli Lilly which brought the Franklins here. Dr. Franklin was born in London, his wife in Wales. They met in Bethesda, Md., where he was doing a fellowship. The couple lived for four years in Milwaukee, where Dr. Franklin was an assistant professor at the medical school. The couple has two children; Sam, 4 , /4>, and Adam, 2Vi>. Sam attends the Hebrew

Academy nursery school. Mrs. Franklin says she chose the Academy because it is well-structured, and because she feels the Hebrew is important. Of Indianapolis, Dr. Franklin says, “It is much better than we thought it would be. So far so good.” AfDA...
