Miss Miriam Lynn Silverman and Mr. David Alan Resnick announced their engagement, which took place on September 6,1980. Miss Silverman’s parents are Mrs. Jerry Silverman and Mr. Mike Silverman, her grandmother is Mrs. Louise Silverman. The bride-groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Resnick and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A1 Meyer and Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Resnick. Miriam is a graduate of I.U. Bloomington, she is teaching at Bedford-N Lawrence high school. Dave, a Sigma Alpha Mu member, is currently working on his Masters of Business Administration degree at I.U. Bloomington. The couple’s wedding is scheduled for August 2, 1981 at the Beth El Zedeck synagogue. Mizrachi To See Slides On JNF A slide presentation entitled, “So Bold The Challenge,” will feature the meeting of the Indianapolis Chapter of American Mizrachi Women at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10 in the Colonial Woods Club House, 8200 Harcourt Rd. The slide will present the role the Jewish National Fund plays in the life of Israel. Mrs. Evelyn Goldberg, is program chairman for the day, and president Mrs. Dorothy Friedman, who will conduct a short business session, is in charge of refreshments. Those requiring transportation may call Mrs. Esther Prince at 297-3352. Deborah Dance: Musical Comedy Plans of the Deborah Sisterhood of Etz Chaim Congregation for its dance to be held on March 14 at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation include a musical comedy and a continental breakfast, it was announced by Mrs. Dave Profeta, president. The musical comedy, starring local talent, is entitled, “A Touch of Class,” and will be presented by Playwright Productions. The continental breakfast includes champagne. Tickets are $12.50 each in advance or $15 at the door. Heading the dance committee are Terri Ward and Lynn Waldman. Vegetables are wonderful and are rarely seen alone in everyday salads. Leanne Goldberg has a wonderful “do ahead” vegetable salad your friends are sure to love. This salad is very tasty and goes well with any main dish. MARINATED VEGETABLE SALAD
1 can baby artichoke hearts
drained
1 can whole green beans
drained
1 can whole mushrooms
drained
1 white or red onion sliced thin 1 green pepper (core & seeds removed), cut into strips
1 jar green olives, (stuffed or plain), drained l cucumber sliced thin 2-3 stocks celery, cut into bite size pieces
2-3 carrots,
cut into bite size pieces Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Cover vegetables with Wishbone Italian Dressing and marinate for at least three days. Stir occasionally and keep tightly covered. Drain before serving. (Women’s Page Continues On Page 4)
