Ruth Fruchter Receives A ward At the B’nai Torah Men’s Club Chanukah Party, Mrs. Nandor (Ruth) Fruchter was honored with the presentation of a certificate designating that a Bower of 500 trees had been planted in her name in Israel. Mrs. Fruchter, an involved and dedicated member of the Indianapolis Jewish Community, was awarded this honor for her activities and outstanding efforts on behalf of the Congregation. She is the former Director of the Sunday School as well as a Past President of the Sisterhood. 9-Week Course In Hebrew Set HAMMOND — A nine-week course in reading and elementary comprehension of Hebrew will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Sundays at the Beth Israel Social Hall beginning on Feb. 15, and continued through April 12.

Cooking With Friends by Barbara Litvak T km&mm (Recipe By Janet C. Frank) Here’s a nice recipe for Honey Cake that’s guaranteed to keep your kitchen warm and smelling good.

3 eggs

l'/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cinnamon

3 cups flour

Preheat oven 325 degrees. Separate eggs. Cream sugar, oil, honey and egg yolks together. Sift flour and dry ingredients in another bowl. Add a little coffee and a little flour to the creamed mixture until finished, on a low speed. Beat egg whites till stiff then fold into a mixture. Pour into greased tubed baking pan. Bake for

12 oz. jar honey

>/2 cup oil

2 teaspoons baking powder

:, 4 teaspoon allspice 1 cup coffee (liquid)

Mother-Daughter Luncheon Planned

B’nai B’rith Chapter 324 will host a “Family Celebration” for B’nai B’rith Girls Sabra Chapter 43 and Shashana Chapter 891 and their mothers on Sunday, January 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bureau of Jewish Education. B’nai B’rith Girls will present an original skit followed by dialogues based on personal values.
