During his tenure Mr. Farbman built the Orchestra into one of Central Illinois premier cultural attractions. Kiesler will assume his new duties March 10, on the gala opening of the new 20,000,000 dollar Public Affairs Center at Sangamon State University which will be the new permanent home of the Orchestra.

Harriet Rodenberg has a recipe for a meltingly rich and tender cake that you’ll want to make again and again. It is similar to a spice cake and works well as a coffee cake for morning or brunch and can also be used as a dessert. AUTUMN COFFEE CAKE 2 cups sugar 2 cups self-rising flour 3 eggs 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground cloves 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 cup vegetable oil 1 cup chopped pecans 2 small jars apricot baby food (optional) Mix all ingredients together until well blended. Bake in a well-greased and floured bundt pan for 45 minutes to one hour at 350 degrees. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Rina Kor Honored; Outstanding Student

TERRE HAUTE - Rina Kor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kor, was honored by the Terre Haute Rotary Club when she was a guest at its luncheon as part of its Student Rotarian Program. Ranked first in the senior class of North Vigo High School, Rina is a National Merit Commended Scholar,
and has been nominated for a National Council of English Teachers Writing Award. She is listed in Who’s Who in Foreign Language and was a delegate to Girls State and Model UN. She is treasurer of the Speech club, a secretary of the Latin club and student council, a member of St. Mary’s-Rose Hulman Mathematics Team, and a member of the tennis club.
