ROUMANIA AND ISRAEL — Diplomatic Relations between Israel and Roumania are the only ones with an Iron Curtain Country, and although there are from time to time indications that the remaining Jews of that country who would like to migrate to Israel find impediments, still she recognizes and has commercial ties with the Jewish State. Women's Division To Hear Mrs. Harriet Zimmerman

LEWIS KATZ SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Harriet Zimmerman, of Atlanta, will be the principal speaker at the luncheon Tuesday, Jan. 13 of the Advanced Gifts Division of the Women’s Division of the Jewish Welfare Fund. She is campaign chairman of Atlanta’s Women’s Division, and was honored by being selected by President Carter to serve on the National Committee for the Humanities for a six-year

term.

The luncheon will be held in the private dining room of the St. Joseph Bank. Talk On Moral Majority — Melanie Stern, Community Consultant for the Anti-Defa-mation League in Chicago, will address the Jan. 19 meet-

ing of the B’nai B’rith Women in the home of Sue and Mark Sandock at 12:45 p.m. Her topic wiU be “Jewish Concerns in the 19008 and the Moral Majority.”

Senior’s Set Programs — An indoor picnic and sing-along on Thursday, Jan. 15 and a bingo social on Feb. 12, plus a film on nutrition and a social afternoon in March, climaxed by a musical program in April have been planned by the Senior Friendship League, it was announced by Lena Berebitsky.

Square Dance Jan. 17 — A square dance has been arranged for Saturday, Jan. 17 at Sinai Synagogue, starting at 7 p.m. when corned beef sandwiches will be served.

New Horizons To Hear Tzuris Line

The Tzuris Line group will provide the entertainment for the first meeting of the year of the New Horizons Club at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19 at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. Hie performers include Ruth Rosenstein, Flo Weinman, Carolyn Schwartz, Betty Lefkowitz, Rosalie Gussow and Miriam Satinsky.

They will be accompanied by Maureen Silverman. For reservations call Sara Sobel, Lena Schwartz of Dinah Tropp. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be postponed to Monday, Feb. 16. An open board meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26.

3-Day Colloquium Set At I.U. On Spiritual Leadership Models

BLOOMINGTON - A threeday special colloquim on “Images and Models of Spiritual Leadership in Judaism" has been scheduled for Monday through Wednesday, Jan. 1921 by the Department of Religious Studies of Indiana University. Six scholarly papers by outstanding authorities will cover different periods of Judaism. State and other rabbis have been invited to participate in order to maximize the opportunity for serious exchange. Prof. Michael Fishbane, erf Brandeis University, will discuss “Typologies of Spiritual Action in the Bible"; Prof. Robert Goldenberg, State University of New York at Stonybrook, will discuss “Talmudic Conception of Winter Schedules At Center Announced Registration is now open at the Jewish Community Center for the winter session of adult and teen continuing claues. Yoga for beginners and those who have had previous experience is offered on Monday morning or evening. Calligraphy classes in the art of writing are scheduled on Monday or Wednesday evening. Jazz Dance, taught by Ginger Hall of Dance Kaleidoscope, is on Monday evenings. Every Thursday evening is the on-going International Folk Dancing class. Perspective for Single Parents and Transactional Analysis will be led by staff members of Jewish Family and Children’s Services on Tuesdays.
