Four Large Checks Boost Drive Over $13,000 Mark
Notes
From Contributors
The biggest boost to the Tel Hashomer Hospital $15,000 Ambulance Fund came this week from four large checks — three for $100 and the fourth for $124. The indication is that with the campaign among readers of The Post and Opinion drawing to a dose, the big givers are joining in to bring a successful conclusion to the effort. Hje largest gift this week came from a non-Jew, Bert Brummelman, of Drayton, Ontario, Canada. He wrote asking that "please accept it as an expression of love for the Torah in general and this special project in particular.” Two of the three $100 checks had Israel angles. They were in honor of the daughter of A1 and Carol Stern of Tucson, Ariz., who shortly will finish her basic training in the Israel Defense Forces, and from William Oroshnik of Plainfield, N.J. in honor of the birth of his granddaughter, Keren Louis Sober in Rehovoth, Israel. Just under $2,000 is needed to finish the campaign, and a few more good weeks of donations such as last week and this should end the campaign to the credit of the readers of The Post and Opinion who once again have joined in to make possible some needed project for Israel. Post and Opinion readers have a vaunted record of aid to Israel starting with a fullyequipped ambulance for the Magen David Adorn, Israel’s

As a non-Jewish reader of The Post and Opinion this is my donation for the Tel Hashomer Hospital Fund. Please accept it as an expression of love for the Torah in general and for this special project in particular. — Bert Brummelman — Drayton,
Ontario, Canada.
It is obvious that no one cares about Jews except Jews. However, from the response for donations for the ambulance fund, I am now wondering about Jews themselves. If each reader would contribute $5 or even only $1 to the fund, I am sure that the
deficit would be overcome. I appeal to all readers — pitch in and do a little bit but let’s buy that ambulance! — Mrs. Bernard (Joan) A. Fried. —
Chicago.
Kindly add the enclosed check to the Tel Hashomer Hospital Fund in honor of my granddaughter, Keren Louise £ Sober, born December 15, in | Rehovoth, Israel. — William J Oroshnik — Plainfield, N.J. «o
Enclosed please find check for $100 in honor of our daughter, Ellen, who will shortly complete her basic training in the Nahal of the Israel Defense Forces and of whom we’re very proud. Wishing you G-d speed in reaching your goal. — A1 & Carol Stern — Tucson, Ariz.
