B'nai Torah Youth Attend Daily Service

Some 20 youngsters recognizing the value and importance of maintaining daily minyonim (prayer meeting) have been coming to services at B’nai Torah on a regular basis. Almost 20 youngsters have staged a coup d’etat of a sort at B’nai Torah. Recognizing the value and importance of maintaining daily minyonim, these youngsters have been coming to daily services on a regular basis. Rabbi Ronald Gray explained that they attend not because they have to say Kaddish, but rather they attend because of their determination to uphold and preserve a basic of Traditional Judaism. It means waking up as much as two hours earlier in the morning and making great haste after services in order to get to school on time. Rabbi Gray and

several other men pick the youngsters up in the morning and take them to school after they have eaten a hearty breakfast at the Synagogue. The youngsters participating are: Mark Becker, Check Bornstein, Jay Bunes, Alan Cohn, Anne Fine, Mona Frankovitz, Sandra Frankovitz, Jeffrey Fried, Keith Fried, Randy Fried, Alan Friedman, Lisa Goldstein, Mark Goldstein, Michael Sacks, Steve Shorr, and Sandy Zeckel. Rabbi Gray expressed the hope in the last edition of the Shofar, that the adults would follow the example set by their children. He quoted from the Haftorah of Shabbas HaGodol: ‘'And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children. . .pointing out that adults can indeed learn from their children.
