Best In Recent History JWF Drive Nears $500,000 Mark
Chairman Edgar Joseph reported this week that the 1967 Jewish Welfare Federation campaign total is nearing the $500,000 mark, exceeding the amount raised at this date last year. THE 1966 drive was one of the best in recent history, Joseph pointed out, and this year’s allout effort to support more than 60 vital agencies throughout the world and here at home gave promise of also being successful. While being optimistic, Joseph also was cautious, stating the campaign windup could fail if workers are negligent in contacting the prospects assigned to them. “We are at the crossroad of the drive,” Joseph said. “This is a crucial period; the end result will be determined by the efforts of our workers in the cam-
paign’s closing stages.” Joseph urged all campaigners to finish up their work as soon as possible and turn in their cards. Campaigning, he noted, cannot lag. He warned there will be diminishing returns if workers delay in completing their as-
signments.
Nevertheless, Joseph was gratified by current reports, which continue to show increased giving. So far, he said, the drive has come through very well. Losses suffered before the campaign began have been made up. THE KEY NOW, he emphasized, is getting every prospect enrolled in the drive; thus, the importance of the solicitor’s job. “We have devoted workers on our team and I am sure they will finish the task,” he said.
