Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lutz Cop Bridge Title
By MYRNA WEINBERGER ME 4-1163 or ME 4-1307 Bridge enthusiasts, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lutz, recently received the first place award in team contract bride competition at French Lick. The tournament was sponsored by the Southern Indiana Contract Bridge Association. MR. AND MRS. William S. Cohen marked the birth of their first son, Jeffrey Andrew, with a gala party at their home, 6556 Spring Mill rd. While the guest of honor slept peacefully, 125 guests were served buffet style in the house and on the canopied patio. Out-of-town relatives were the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Kupcinel of New York, and the great-grandfather Mr. Oavid Meschel, also of New York.

Beiman have taken up residence at 428 Wellington rd. Philip Lee Poppe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poppe, started his business career with Lazarus & Co., of Columbus, Ohio., after graduating recently from the Indiana University School of Business. He currently is serving a two-year tour of duty with the Army as a 2nd Lt. At Indiana University he received d i s t i nguished military honors and was a member of the “Little 500” steering committee. MRS. CARRIE Hyman of Monroe, La., is visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kahn. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Poppe is her mother, Mrs. Mosias, of Miami Beach, Fla. MR. SAM ROSE has returned after spending a few days with his wife in New York. While there Mr. Rose attended the World Series games. Mr. Robert Green berg of 540 Rainbow Lane, has returned from New York after attending the World Series. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Berger of 5664 N. College Ave., have returned from California where they visited with their son and his family, Dr. and Mrs. B. C. Berger of San Francisco. They also visited with their family and friends in Los Angeles. MISS MARCIA Wilma Black, daughter of Mrs. Minnie Black, is pledging Sigma Delta Tau sorority at the University of Nebraska. Miss Black is a 1960 graduate of Shortridge High School. To Unveil Monument For Manuel Dobrow A monument in memory of Manuel Dobrow will be unveiled at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 at the Highland Lawn cemetery in Terre Haute. Rabbi Henry Landman

Mr. and Mrs. George Horwitz, 1605 E. 46 st., announce the bar mitzvah of their son, Alan, which will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 22, at the B’nai Torah Congregation, 3359 Ruckle st. Rabbi Nandor Fruchter and Cantor Y. Jade will officiate. A kiddush will follow the services in the vestry room. All relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. A swimming party in honor of Alan will be held for his friends at the Indiana University Student Union building on Sunday, Oct. 23. Alan will also be honored at a dinner party for family and out-of-town guests following the “splash” party. Alan is the grandson of Mrs. Rose Lenowitz. O Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Roth announce the forthcoming bar mitzva of their son, Steven Michael Roth. Services will be held Friday, Oct. 21 at 8:30 p.m. and 10:00 Saturday morning at Temple Beth-El. A .reception for friends will follow both services. There will be a dinner at home for relatives on Friday. Mrs. Louis Stern, the maternal grandmother, of Rochester, N. Y. will be present.
